20xwork builds a profile of how each person does the steps of their job and recommends what to do next. It does not decide anything about a person's employment.
- Every recommendation is shown to the person and acted on, adapted or dismissed by them. Nothing is written to a system of record without a human choosing to.
- Levels are computed from evidence the person can see, with a reference to each source record. A person can flag evidence they believe is wrong and an admin can exclude it.
- Our terms require that profiles are used to guide and develop people, and are not the sole basis for hiring, pay, promotion, disciplinary or termination decisions. Where an organisation wants to use profile data in such a decision, a human reviews the evidence and the person can contest it.
This is designed to keep the product outside Article 22 GDPR, which restricts decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. We provide a description of the logic for works councils and data protection officers on request.
