I built a profitable SaaS as a solo founder—handling product, design, engineering, growth, and ops. No co-founder, no employees, no funding. AI is my entire team. $28K MRR and growing.

Solo SaaS from zero to $10K MRR in 4 months with AI
Identified a gap in developer deployment tooling while working at Careem. Solo with no funding, needed to build, launch, and grow a product by myself while transitioning out of full-time employment.
Build and launch solo product identifying deployment gap gaining user traction
Used Claude for product strategy and market research. Designed the full UI in Figma. Built the app with Cursor (Next.js + Supabase + Vercel). Claude helped with architecture decisions, code review, and documentation. Launched on Product Hunt and developer communities.
Reached $10K MRR within 4 months of launch, with 340 paying teams. Product Hunt #3 of the day drove 1,200 signups in the first week.

Engineer-built product UI with 78 NPS for ease of use
StackShip needed a professional-looking UI but hiring a designer wasn't an option. Previous developer tools I'd built looked like "engineer-designed" which hurt adoption.
Design professional UI without designer improving adoption and user experience
Studied 20+ developer tool UIs and created a mood board. Used Figma with Midjourney-generated illustration concepts. Built a design system with Tailwind CSS. Claude reviewed designs for accessibility and UX best practices. Iterated based on beta user feedback sessions.
Users consistently cite the UI as a differentiator. NPS for "ease of use" is 78. Three competitors' users have switched citing UI as a factor.

Zero-downtime CI/CD pipeline at 15 deploys/day for $89/month
Needed enterprise-grade deployment reliability as a solo developer. Customers are developer teams who won't tolerate downtime, but I can't afford a DevOps hire.
Build enterprise-grade deployment reliability as solo developer no DevOps hire
Architected a deployment pipeline with Vercel (frontend), Supabase (backend), and GitHub Actions (CI). Claude helped design the zero-downtime migration strategy with database branching. Automated testing, preview deployments, and rollback capabilities.
99.97% uptime over 8 months, averaging 15 deploys/day. Zero customer-facing incidents from deployments. Infrastructure cost: $89/month.

Dev content strategy driving 60% of signups with zero ad spend
With no marketing budget, needed to build awareness in the developer community. Paid ads for developer tools have notoriously low ROI.
Build developer community awareness with zero marketing budget organic growth
Used Claude to draft technical blog posts, tutorials, and comparison guides targeting developer pain points. Published 2 posts/week on the company blog and cross-posted to Dev.to and Hashnode. Created a free open-source tool that funnels users to the paid product.
Blog drives 18K monthly visits. Organic + content referrals account for 60% of signups. The open-source tool has 2,400 GitHub stars and is the #1 acquisition channel.

AI support bot auto-resolving 70% of tickets in 3 minutes
Handling 40+ support tickets/day as a solo founder was unsustainable. Response times were slipping past 24 hours and customers were frustrated.
Built a Claude-powered support bot integrated with the help docs and codebase. Common issues (deployment failures, billing, configuration) are diagnosed and resolved automatically. Escalation to me only for novel issues. Supabase stores ticket context for continuity.
70% of tickets auto-resolved. Average response time went from 18 hours to 3 minutes for automated issues. Customer satisfaction score improved from 3.8 to 4.6 out of 5.

Usage-based billing system lifting ARPU 40% and trials 25%
Original flat pricing ($29/month) was leaving money on the table for heavy users and discouraging small teams from starting. Needed a usage-based model but building custom billing is notoriously complex.
Used Cursor to build a metering system on Supabase that tracks deployments, build minutes, and team seats. Integrated with Stripe for usage-based billing. Claude helped design the pricing tiers and model the revenue impact. Built a real-time usage dashboard for customers.
ARPU increased 40% (from $29 to $41) while the entry-level plan actually decreased (driving 25% more trial starts). Net revenue increased 52%.

SOC 2 Type I in 6 weeks at $12K vs. typical $50K+ and 6-12 months
Enterprise prospects were requiring SOC 2 compliance before signing contracts. Traditional SOC 2 compliance takes 6-12 months and costs $50K+ with a consultant.
Used Claude to generate the initial policy documents and map existing infrastructure to SOC 2 controls. Automated evidence collection with n8n workflows pulling from AWS, Supabase, and GitHub. Used Vanta for continuous monitoring and audit readiness.
Achieved SOC 2 Type I in 6 weeks at $12K total cost. Unlocked 3 enterprise contracts worth $18K in combined ARR within the first month.

AI-guided onboarding cutting first deploy from 45 min to 7.5 min
Initial signup-to-first-deploy time was 45 minutes. Users were dropping off at the configuration step because developer tool setup is inherently complex. Only 30% of signups completed their first deployment.
Redesigned onboarding with Claude analyzing drop-off data from PostHog. Built a guided setup wizard in Figma, then implemented with Cursor. Claude generates starter configs based on the user's detected tech stack. Added an AI assistant that troubleshoots setup issues in real time.
Median time-to-first-deploy dropped from 45 minutes to 7.5 minutes. Activation rate (first deployment within 24 hours) went from 30% to 68%.
